Our life depends greatly on our lineage and the tasks that our lineage imposes upon us. Even if, for some reason, we move far away from our relatives, try to forget them—both those who are alive and those who have already passed away—we still cannot completely free ourselves from the influence of our lineage.
Ancestral programs are hereditary patterns of behavior, emotions, and thoughts passed down from generation to generation, influencing actions and decisions. These programs, connected with the experiences of our ancestors, manifest themselves in the form of family scenarios, traditions, and recurring issues concerning finances and relationships.
Working through and understanding these ancestral programs can help transform hereditary patterns. In the natal charts of parents, children, and relatives, one can always observe the interaction of the same planets through different aspects.
The Lineage and the Planets
The first seven generations (starting from us) are crucial for understanding the problems within the lineage and for working through karma.
First Generation
The first generation is ourselves.
The planet responsible for us is the Sun. The Sun embodies light, joy, life—that is, it represents us. At least, this is what we are meant to be.
Second Generation
The second generation consists of our parents.
The Moon governs the parents (emotions, feelings, mind, family relationships, the overall sense of happiness).
From the parents, a child inherits behavior, speech, habits, manners, and patterns of relationships in marriage and with others.
Third Generation
The third generation consists of our grandparents.
The planet Mercury rules grandparents (communication, intellect, logical thinking, reason—all that is passed down to us from them).
Grandparents also pass on talents, traditions, and abilities.
Fourth Generation
The fourth generation consists of our great-grandparents.
The planet Venus rules great-grandparents (love, material well-being, beauty, close relationships).
If this generation experienced good relationships, then you are likely to have them as well.
It is believed that one should pray for this generation if they wish to have true love and a happy relationship with a beloved partner in their own life.
